Last night, something incredible happened. I went out for run without bitching about it or procrastinating. I cannot believe it.
I only went for a half an hour, but I made the most of that half hour, and pushed myself a bit at the end. I managed to do 3 miles in 32 minutes. That is getting better. I am so pleased that it is getting easier. It felt good. I am still not where I was a year ago, but I am getting closer to that level of fitness everyday. I feel stronger each time I go out and am more aware of my form than ever before. I am so proud of my progress! I am really getting back to where I was.
After my run in with crazy guy from my early morning run (see Gadget Girl Eats Dirt), I have been running with Delilah or Chien (Delilah is the black & white Border Collie and Chien is our Pit Bull/Rottweiller) for my own safety. Often times, I am not getting out to run until just after dark, so I have been bringing one of the girls with me. This has been working out great. Delilah is more of the long distance runner, where Chien is more of a sprinter.
This is our yard and our girls before Delilah ate my picket fence and tore out every MF flower I planted and she destroyed the grass. We are in for a lot of work this spring….BITCHES.
This past week has been crap for eating. I have been struggling with snacking in the evenings and craving rich, fattening food, like mayonnaise on my sandwich, and hollandaise sauce on asparagus, not to mention finishing more than my fair share of trail mix.
Eric took Allison to the grocery store, while I went running with Delilah. What a good Daddy Eric is. I am so proud to be his wife. He is such a great husband to have. I feel so blessed.
Today is Valentine’s Day and we have nothing planned. Last Valentine’s Day, I ended up pregnant. I am afraid we have learned our lesson and are a bit cautious this year 😉 Eric, will you still be my Valentine? I love you more today than I did last Valentine’s Day and a hundred times more than I did on our wedding day. I did not think it possible to love someone so much!
Tonight is Track Practice. We are doing 8x400s w/ calis. & 100 strides btwn intervals. Sounds like a fun work-out. I love when we do calisthenics between intervals. I love being out on the track with everyone. It really is a lot of fun. I really missed it.
