Last night’s track practice was awesome! It sure was challenging, but my head was in the right place and my body followed. I started out by enjoying the warm-up. Whomever was leading the warm-up was going a tab bit fast, at the same time, it was good, and I kept up.
We did the 8x400s w/ calis. & 100 strides btwn intervals workout and it was fun. I allowed myself to go a bit faster than I normally have been and I did fine. I was really pushing myself and my whole body was responding. I am finding that I am making a ton of progress each and every time I go out. It really helps to be running with such a great group. There is only a few people that are not very nice, which I think you can find anywhere, but overall, what a fantastic group of people! It is nice to have some adults to talk to and I get to use my big girl, adult voice (no babytalk).
Eric and I did not do anything for Valentine’s Day. I did not put together a meal for dinner, so Eric had to cook. Fortunately for him, it was just tortellini and the chicken was already prepared, so it was not to difficult.
For the first time in over a year, I am sick with a cold. I am all congested, achy, disconnected, runny nose, overall just feeling like crap. It is not the worst cold ever, just enough to make me not want to do anything.
THE WEIGHT LOSS FRONT:
I have not posted about my weight loss in over a week for several reasons. First, I did not go to my weigh in last Thursday, because Eric came home on Thursday and I was side-tracked. Secondly, I had several really bad days, where I just ate myself into trouble. Third, I was all bloated, because despite my just giving birth three months ago and exclusively breastfeeding, I get my time of the month like clockwork now So, those are all my excuses and I am perfectly fine with those excuses and totally back on track with everything this week.
Much to my joy, surprise, wonderment, amazement, and disbelief, I have not gained any weight since my last weigh in. I am going to drink a ton of water today and flush out the bad stuff (bloat, fluff, whatever) and weigh-in bright and early tomorrow morning. I will brace myself for a gain, as I do not wish to be disappointed if the scale jumps up tomorrow for some strange reason.
The Sue Krenn 15K run is on March 4th. That is 9.32 miles for the metrically challenged (like me…I can never figure that stuff out!) I ran roughly one mile less than that on Saturday. I do not see any issues running that, but I would like to beat my time from last year. I really struggled with last year’s run. I could not figure out what was wrong with me. I was sick, throwing up, stomach cramps, and having an all-over “bad” race. What I did not realize, is that I was, at that precise moment pregnant.
It was interesting to find out later that the reason why I struggled on this run was because I was “with child.” Still, a 10:25 minute pace overall is not terrible. I would still like to beat this if I can. This Saturday’s run is going to be very important.
