Saturday’s long run was an hour. It felt really super good. Eric and Allison came with me. Eric took the jogging stroller and they walked around the flood channel and bay, while I did my long run. Allison did not make a peep, but charmed the pants off of all the women.
I am not the fastest (obviously) and not the slowest (but close), but I can definitely see progress. I am starting to get some muscle back and I think I am getting the tiniest bit faster. I had such a great time. My lungs feel fine, but my muscles are weak, but I am getting there.
It was 35 degrees out when we left. If that is not freaking dedication, I do not know what is. 35 degrees and 7 a.m. on a Saturday. The thought, “WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING?” raced through my head more than once. It felt wonderful though.
A girl I was running with for a while was saying that she was not sure if she likes running. It made me think, “What do I like about running?” So here is my list:
- It is good for my health.
- I feel better.
- It makes me look better.
- I get to eat more when I exercise more.
- It is so beautiful to run here.
I will come back to add more to this list.
