This week has been filled with developmental milestones. I just do not know where to start! You are growing up so fast, right before our very eyes.
I have noticed this week that your hands are not clinched as tight as they used to be. The other day, you were sleeping and I noticed that both fists were opened and on your lap. You look like a perfect little doll when you sleep. I just love to watch you sleep.
We are more frequently having LONG periods of sleep. Mommy and Daddy are thrilled. Last night, we got 7 1/2 hours of sleep. Daddy was going to get up early to get some things done and was counting on you to be his alarm clock. Instead, you gave him an extra hour of MUCH NEEDED sleep.
You are bearing weight on your feet. Not to say that you are trying to walk, just that when you are lying tummy to tummy with us, you use your legs to help move you up closer to our faces. You are a very strong little girl. We are amazed everyday by your strength. AND, such LONG legs you have. My goodness Allison!! We just know you are going to be active in sports.
We started lying you in your activity gym for tummy time lately. The funniest thing happens every time though. We lay you down on the mat on your tummy and you go right to sleep. The experts say, “back to sleep,” but we watch you lie there, right on your tummy, sound asleep. It is very cute.
This bonnet came from Mimi and Papa from Italy
You are now able to be in your swing, bouncy seat, and/or your activity gym for about a half hour or so now. You are entertaining yourself a lot more than before. It gives Mommy a chance to fold laundry and answer some e-mails, without having to hold you at the same time. That is not to say that you do not LOVE your Mommy time. We spend a lot of time, just looking at each other’s faces, nursing, and just hanging out. You are so, so sweet Allison. I just love looking into those pretty blue eyes and that perfect little face. When you were first born, you did not have any eyelashes or eyebrows, but now, you are starting to get little eyebrows and you have the most BEAUTIFUL, long, full, pretty eyelashes. We may be a bit biased, but we really think you are the most beautiful baby ever.
We do not have to worry AS MUCH about your neck like we did when you were first born. You are holding your neck so strong. You turn to see who is talking or to look at the kitty. When I hold you, you like to be where you can look around, but you still love to give such nice cuddles and squeezes. You love to have Mommy and Daddy talk and sing to you. This is something we do all the time. Daddy and I talk to you and you make eye contact like you are very interested in what have to say. You love kisses and close your eyes in anticipation of them. You coo, sigh, and squeal when we kiss your chubby little cheeks.
You are growing up so fast Allison. I just want to hold onto these precious moments forever and ever. We are so glad we get to be your parents.
