About Me
Stay-at-home-mom, Runner, Disgruntled.
Where to start? Well, my name is Laura (Duh!) I am 30 something (currently though, 37). We live in the burbs of San Diego, with our four year old daughter, two dogs (Delilah and Chien), two fish, and a possum-playing water frog.
I am married to my best friend, Mr. Bear. We met when we were barely 21 and after all these years, we still like each other. Shocking, I know!
We love to travel and have been many places together. We would like to travel all over the world and are well on our way. We have been to France (Paris, Strassbourg, St. Malo, Normandie, and many other cities along the way), Germany (Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden), Austria (Vienna, Austria), Switzerland (Zurich, Swiss Alps), The Netherlands, Brussels, Prague, London, the Caribbean, and several other cities throughout our road trips in 2005 and 2007.
I used to be a High School, Special Education, English Teacher (Mild Disabilities- learning handicapped), before I had our beautiful daughter, Allison. I am a stay-at-home mommy and love it! I dabble in web design and graphic design (holiday, birth, birthday announcements). I love photography and cannot wait to expand my horizons with a new dSLR camera. My favorite subject is our twofour-year old!
I am a runner and train for races whenever I get a chance. I ran my first 10k in Fall of 2004 and my first half marathon in November 2004. In January 2005, I joined the track club and began training for my first marathon. I was in shock to find out in the middle of the season that I was pregnant. After running 20 miles and have doctor-ordered bed rest, I postponed my marathon training until after I had my daughter.
In January 2006, I came back to train with the San Diego Track Club and finally completed my first marathon in June. I completed another half marathon in Fall 2006 and have completed several half marathons since then.
We are trying to conceive our second child and have hung up my full marathon shoes for the moment. However, there is always a race on the horizon, that we look forward to training for.
Currently Training for:
AFC Half Marathon: August 15, 2010

Love the picture at the top of the page. Do you really look like that?
Hello,
I recently came across your blog: example.com while I was looking for good blogs to link to from the website HiSunglasses.com. I am trying to link to blogs that my visitors might like to visit once they are finished on the site.
Since HiSunglasses.com is visited by 1,000s of people daily, I am sure many of them would be interested in visiting your blog. I figured since we are not competitors in any way, you wouldn’t mind if I link to your website. Please email me back and let me know if this is OK with you. Would it be possible for you to link back to my website HiSunglasses.com? Please let me know. Thanks.
Magdiel
Hello,
Question about your Blog
I am writing in the hopes of opening up a communication channel with your blog (if you are interested).
We are a blog and website that is frequently writing about topics that are beer and spirits related (usually from a label perspective).
We are always looking for interesting content/posts to mention and link to on our blog and website. As such, if you post something you feel is very unique/interesting on your blog, please let me know via return email.
We are happy to give it a mention on our blog and send a link to it your way.
We are serious about quality content and I think that our content generation is creative and high quality (ie. we don’t blogspam).
Here is a link to something that we did recently that has generated a lot of interested:
