Skinny Bitch
Today FINALLY! my book order from Amazon.com arrived. I have been pacing the mailbox since the 29th of August, waiting patiently (RIIIIIGHT) for the book to arrive. I got two books, “The RAVE Diet” book by Mike Anderson that I have been talking about and another book, called “Skinny Bitch,” by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. I have not read the RAVE Diet one yet because the book, “Skinny Bitch,” I have heard and read great stuff about it. I heard it was hilarious and frankly, I needed a laugh today. It really was a riot. The book is described as written in a no-nonsense kind of way, but the use of swear words within the first three pages even made me blush (AND LAUGH OUT LOUD!). It was a pretty good book and an easy read. I recommend it to anyone considering becoming vegan and/or vegetarian. It is a very sassy book and I did like it a lot.
I am going into my fourth day of the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle and things are going much easier than I thought they would be. I thought I was going to eat tree bark or tofu (yuck) all day. As it turns out, tofu, when prepared correctly can be a great alternative to animal products and can be made tasty. I skipped my coffee today, but I cannot promise this every morning. I had a raging headache by 2:00 p.m., however, I will make every effort to try to drink some organic decaf and green. I m going to give it a try.
I can do this vegan thing forever. I went to Trader Joe’s today and got some yummy veggie chips with flax seed that were pretty damn good. I want to make some hummus tomorrow and have absolutely loved the raw/whole/fresh food. I have been careful to read labels. I found many “organic vegetarian” products that had whey protein, preservatives, and “natural flavors.” This has been effectively a re-education of eating for me. I am starting to really like it.
The headache continues. Yikes. Caffeine dependency is a terrible thing.

Ooo I have been totally intrigued by the Skinny B*tch book. It is suppose to be brutally honest! hehe
Trader Joes is AWESOME.
Ouch on the headaches … I hope today is better for you.
I may have to read that bitch book too. I need some brutal honesty. I’m glad the vegan diet is going so well for you initially. Maybe next you can sign up with one of the organic farms, like Be Wise Ranch up here in RB. They have a stand every weekend with the pick of the crops. Very tasty and fun to plan family meals around.
I’ve heard the book is hilarious. I’ll have to check it out.
Good luck to you. My BFF is a recently converted Vegan. She has lost quite a bit of weight.
