She bounded up next to the bedside, “MOOOOMMMMMYYY! I am ready! Would you please do my hair?” I blinked sleepily in her direction, trying to focus. I inhaled deeply and tried to take in her whole four year old presence. She was stunning! Her hot pink leotard clung loosely on her lean, small frame and her green eyes starred at me with anticipation. It was hard to believe she was F O U R. She appeared to be so grown up, as I stroked her unruly bed-head. I quickly shot up and attempted to tame the unruliness into two braids aside her sweet little ears. My eyes filled with tears as my arms encircled her slight waistline. I am so lucky. She is the neatest person I have ever known.
I took some pictures while we were waiting for gymnastics to start on Saturday morning. She is so excited about her “nastics” class. You can view the entire photoset HERE. This is my favorite of all of them.
This is another of my favorites.
After her first class, we promised we would get a leotard for her before the following class. The night before the class, she reminded us that she had to have a leotard. We told her that. She needed a leotard. She drove a hard bargain and went shopping for a new leotard. She chose the one in photos above.
Today, as we were walking up to the door of Allie’s preschool, Jack and Allie said their good mornings. They were walking arm and arm, when Jack turned to Allie and said, “Allison, I really want to marry you.” She began explaining to him that she was torn between two loves, because she has this friend Ryan, and she did not know who to choose.
